Recently, Direction Center’s servers, including our main server, were targeted by a cyber-attack. Below is a transparent report of the incident and how we resolved it:
- A group of hackers conducted a vulnerability scan across our servers.
- They managed to upload a file named nius.txt, which contained sensitive personal data.
- The file was immediately deleted, and all vulnerabilities were patched to secure the servers.
- We contacted the cybersecurity authorities in Germany, who provided us with crucial information and guidance to strengthen our defenses.
- Unfortunately, Google has not yet removed the cached link (direction.center/nius.txt), which still appears in search results.
- We want to clarify that the connection between this incident and our company was only due to the file being uploaded to our domain. The situation was fully contained.
- As soon as the file was discovered, our team ensured that no server data could be accessed or misused by external parties.
- At Direction Center, the protection of personal data remains a top priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding individuals’ information, regardless of their location.
- We would like to thank our technical team for their swift response, as well as the German police for their prompt cooperation and the valuable information they shared.
Together, we stand for a safer digital environment.
